{"id":429,"date":"2023-06-12T06:25:36","date_gmt":"2023-06-12T06:25:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/schooltofarm.com\/?p=429"},"modified":"2023-07-19T22:49:12","modified_gmt":"2023-07-19T22:49:12","slug":"introduction-to-the-project-school-to-farm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/schooltofarm.com\/index.php\/2023\/06\/12\/introduction-to-the-project-school-to-farm\/","title":{"rendered":"Introduction to the Project School to Farm"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>&#8220;School to Farm&#8221; is an innovative educational project that originated from the<br>observation that, for students, the real and the virtual reality seamlessly intertwine.<br>The project brings these two worlds together. The project aims at encouraging<br>teachers into reaching out to new technologies and innovative working methods,<br>including techniques from STEAM methodology. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;School to Farm&#8221; promotes learning outside of school, in a natural setting, working with farmers and farm owners. Teachers visit farms with their students and observe the agricultural work carried out there. Then, at school, based on the knowledge gained from the farmers, teachers and pupils use information technology to create a virtual reality, e.g. a strawberry plantation in educational games and compare the results with observations from the real world. It is an idea for other creative activities<br>that awaken curiosity in young people and practise problem-solving and discussion<br>skills, as well as improving the digital competences of teachers and students.<br>Part of the project is the construction of a knowledge base derived from interviews<br>with farmers on the topics of ecology, healthy food and cooperation with the<br>education sector, conducted in the partner countries by project participants.<br>The project will result in resource materials for use in the classroom, including:<br>computer games simulating the reality of a farm, a compendium of knowledge, a blog<br>about growing a school garden, and analyses of cooperation between schools and<br>other public institutions and farms.<br>The School to Farm project is implemented within the framework of the Erasmus+<br>programme and is funded by the European Union. I live in Warsaw, Poland. I am an advocate of new trends in education, especially the ntegration of new technologies and gamification into formal education.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Formany years, I have participated in international projects that, in my opinion, really enhance the teaching process and provide an attractive alternative to boring lessons. I have more than 15 years of experience in this field.
